.30-06, 77 Mk II and light bullets?

I would agree with the above post that the heavier bullets group better with the faster twist. I would look up the specs on the rifle on the twist rate and if you can't find it contact Ruger for the answer. I have never shot a decent group with Remington Core Lokt ammo. I have shot it in...

    velocity Question

I worked up a good load for my Savage model 10fp in .308 win. I used 168gr Hornady AMax 42.5 gr Varget Winchester new unfired brass Federal Gold Medal Match Primers ( Large Rifle) Less than 1/2" group @ 100 yds. I would like to know if someone could tell me approximately what the muzzle...

    Inexpensive factory 45 Colt?

Ask around. Everyone knows someone who reloads. You might have to buy the dies and componants, but you should be able to find a hobbyist who will do it for a small fee. Good luck. Jed

    Mini-14 best bullet

Mine shoots good with Black Hills 55gr softpoint. I buy the blue box remanufactured. As for handloads, I shoot 55gr v-max with 25 gr of accurate 2230. That's my prairie dog load for my Ruger M77 target .223. Shoots great in my Mini 14, but not like the target rifle does.

    Scope for mini 14

I have a little Bushnell Banner 3x9x 32 on mine. Works well and doesn't look so bulky on a carbine.

    Varget powder question

Has anyone loaded Varget powder in the Dillon 550B ? Someone told me it doesn't drop a charge well because it is an extruded powder. He said I should stay with ball powder. I would be loading .308 win and 300 wsm. Thanks for any advice. Jed

    Accurate 2520 load for .308

When I started loading a couple years ago I began with a light load in .223 and found the best load for the 55gr bullet being 25 grains of Accurarte 2230. This happened to be the top load, but shoots the best groups in both my Ruger target grey and my Rock River varminter. My question was more...

    Accurate 2520 load for .308

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm trying to find what you would consider a good load for the .308 using accurate 2520 powder. I will be loading Hornady 168 gr A Max bullets. My neighbor gave me some 168 gr Sierra's loaded with 40.5 gr of 2520.It shoots OK but I'd like more...

    .308 Hornady TAP

I plan to start reloading for .308 win. I use the rifle for taget shooting at the range. It is a Savage FP Model 10. I noticed the Hornady 168 grain A Max bullet is listed for taget shooting. The Hornady Tap ammo says on the box 168 grain A Max. Is this the same bullet ? I would think that a...

Ibought the 550B a couple years ago and it's set up in my Son's basement. My wife likes it better there than here. Jed

    Good price for factory .223?

BeatleDog, What's the barrel twist on your .223. You might want to try some 55 grain or heavier bullets. Jed

    Deal on 30-06 ammunition

I bought some last year, but there was a limit to 2 boxes maximum per household for the rebate. I bought 2 boxes at a time, and had my friends send in the rebate form and they each got $10 for me. Better check the rebate form before. Jed
