    Ruger M 1911, .45 ACP Vs. 9mm

I'm considering a 9mm M. 1911 as I already have a .45 ACP. Just wondering whether or not Ruger scaled down the overall dimensions of the 9mm version to match the smaller cartridge?

    SR 1911 9mm

Some firearms will not accept a fully loaded magazine under a closed slide and you should not try to force the issue.

I don't care how long you have been reloading!

Good that you're honest with yourself and with us. I too am a 50+ year reloader and you simply can't be too careful. As I too have occasional bouts of male mental pause, I now write the powder and charge I'm using on a piece of masking tape and attach it to the powder throw cover on my Dillon...

44 Magnum Reloading for Revolvers and Rifle- Advice Welcomed

For most shooting with the .44 Magnum, simply load to .44 Special velocities. I use a 240 grain Keith semi-wadcutter over 8 grains of unique for a load that speaks with a little authority yet is very pleasant to shoot. However, I use this load in my Ruger Super Black hawk rather than my...

    primer pockets

Not only do I clean the pockets, I also ream or uniform them. I have found that certain firearms such as the S&W M&P and the Marlin 336 are extremely sensitive to high primers. Uniforming the primers eliminates misfires caused by high primers.

Anyone heard about Ruger PC carbines coming back?

The idea of a Ruger carbine accepting Glock magazines was once presented to Bill Ruger, who did his best to imitate Joe Biden and replied that if Glock wanted a carbine, they could build their own damned carbine. There is also the matter of patent infringement. It becomes a sticky legal...

    44 Mag Carbines

I have the tube feed carbine, a late 60s or early 70s model. Great to carry and hunt whitetails with at typical eastern ranges. As parts are no longer available, it's best to find one that does not show a lot of rounds through it. Fortunately, most guys who own them don't use them for plinking...

A "Headsup" Small Pistol Primers in 45 ACP Brass

This topic has been discussed on other forums. Having to sort shells by primer size is indeed a burden. However, having to change the primer feed system on a progressive press is also burdensome. As I also load 9mm on my Dillon, I really wouldn't mind merely changing over between 9mm and .45...

    cleaning brass

As I've been having problems lately seating my primers to correct depth, I've taken to first decapping using a universal decapper. Then, I soak my brass in Dawn, Lemon Shine and a bit of dishwashing detergent and very hot water. Without tumbling, this formula burns dirt and tarnish off the...
