The 1911 .45 ACP in one of its basic "as issued" platforms, reliable, powerful.
Must be a quality build made by trusted companies though.
I own an early version of a Rock Island GI type that I modified with an
arched mainspring housing and plastic USGI grips. A throwback to the 1911
I carried...
DD_USMC, very nice rifle and scope, your price is reasonable. I have the same rifle (1st gen) in .223 and I have won
some "factory rifle" bench rest matches with it because these rifle are wicked good in the accuracy area right out
of the box. Have you had any trigger work done on the rifle...
I have a ROA that I plan to sell at the gun show in Dalton Ohio in Feb. 2013. Mine is also a 7.5 inch SS in mint to 98 percent
contdition with both boxes, all the paper work and stuff, and is all original very lightly used. I plan to put it on the table for $550-575.
It does have the faux...
I have one which I keep in my cars console at all times. I love the gun and
it is a definite fight stopper loaded with Blazer 44 special 200 grain Speer
Gold Dots. I feel very confident with it as my main gun. Even with just 5 shots.
I did not like the way it shot with the factory rubber grips...
I believe that this is called a "Blackbird" and it should come with
2 cylinders, a .22 mag and a .22 LR.
I could be mistaken
The barrel looks longer though....hmmmm... also I see a warning on
the barrel and the Blackbird has no warning showing on the side as
this one does.
HERE IS ANOTHER...
Ditto to Snake45 and other posts on the Simmons 22 Mag Rimfire Scopes, I have 3 of them.
2 of them are the 22 Mags with the adjustible objectives (one is an older model, slimmer and trimmer than the new style)
and I also have one of them in non AO style. If you are not shooting in rimfire...
I would not cause any more fuss about this and I agree with previous posts,
that getting in the news might bring about some undesired consequences
to the folks in the gun buying community. The press does not care that you
might be an "honest gun owning citizen" they will spin it to portray you...
this is not what you are looking for but Numrich Arms has the
stainless 4" standard barrels ("used excellent factory take offs")
complete with fron sight, for $38.95 if you would like a duo-tone look.

I probably have no right to offer an opinion since I dispise the MK III Rugers,
but I do own a half dozen or so MK I's and MK II's so I will offer one anyway.
My suspicion is the mag disconnect/magazine contraption has gotten a little dirty,
funky or out of spec. in some way after the first two...

I suspect that you are correct about the swapping of uppers to lowers.
There was no serious interest on my part in doing so, I just had a momentary
Franken-Ruger daydream. If I ever have one of each model apart at the same time, I will have a go at it.
One of the two MK II 22/45's that...
xtratoy - If you can get an accurate read on where your point of aim
is impacting at 90 yards, while shooting a Bearcat, I am going on record
to say that you are one damn good revolver shooter! I really mean it!
I hit a 9" paper plate 4 shots out of 5 at 50 yards once with my
Ruger Vaquero in...
A bit off topic here so I apologize but I was wondering.....
Does anyone know if the upper from my Zytel framed Mk II 22/45 4" bbl
will fit on the lower of a MK II steel standard lower/grip frame?
Very interesting. I had a Walther P22 which I did not care for.
Maybe it was just me but I thought that the gun was ugly.
Also, I injured myself twice pulling back on the slide due to
the sharp rear sight.
I smoothed out the sight corners profile and that helped.
But I just did not love the...
I have 3 Ruger Standard models (fixed sights) .22 auto pistols at present.
They all shoot to the point of aim, with slight veritcal variation from the ammo,
and the distance, but always centered.
I have an S&W model 10-5 that shoots to the centered point of aim,
as does my S&W .38 Special...
Hey rwc53,
Very nice pistola, I can see why you could only have it
pried from your cold dead hands!
You should drop on over to the RimfireCentral.com web site
and post the pictures of it on the " Some...I'd NEVER part with"
thread that can be found in the Mark I sub-forum.
Be nice and share.
