Redhawk with sleeve and shroud vs Reg barrel

As mentioned above, new Redhawks with one-piece barrels can still be found. Just order the correct model number. For example, model 5004 is the .44 magnum with 5.5" one-piece barrel, and it is available at various places online. I'm not positive about the model number for the one-piece 7.5"...

Why only 5 shots in the GP100 44 Special?

The 44 Special Blackhawks are built on the 357 Magnum frame and have a 6 round capacity, and 3-screw 357 Magnums are often converted to 44 Special with 6 shots. Why only 5 shots in the GP100 44 Special?

    SP101 Issue

The above suggestions will likely fix your problem, but there's also another thing you could check. On my SP101, I noticed that the spent cases did not eject when one of them was in line with the lower left rear corner of the cylinder window in the frame (shooter's perspective). The rim of the...

    Safety in Bear Country

The recent "44 Special for Grizzly" thread reminded me of a US Forest Service article I came across some years ago: Safety in bear country: protective measures and bullet performance at short range. Their study included rifles, handguns, and the 12ga shotgun. Although it was published in 1983...

Difficulty Ejecting 357s After Shooting 38s Due to Erosion?

I was recently watching an older Massad Ayoob video where he was speaking to police trainers. He stated that many departments train with 38s and carry 357s in their revolvers, but when you shoot 38s it causes a little bit of erosion in the chamber ahead of the 38 brass. Then when you shoot a...

Using Components From Someone Else's Handloads

Chief, thanks for the reply. I have a CZ 550 Safari Magnum. Here is a photo of the bullets. I have the most of numbers 1 and 2, the 270 grain bullets. There are only a few of each of the others, though I think I have a bag of loose number 4 as well.
