    77/41 Magnum ???

So here's the deal, I have a 5" GP 100 and a 77/357 that I like a lot, but I also like and shoot 41 mag. So I've been thinking that it'd be fun to have a 77/41 mag, however, I have no idea how complicated this would be to accomplish. I would think maybe starting with a 77/44, would the mag work...

Appreciate all the time and effort Hondo44. I'll take some time to look and learn and decide if I want to take on this little project. Thanks again.

OMB 41 mag grip frame ears ?

First, thanks for the time and effort Hondo44, a lot of info and very clear. The ears on my 41 look like the first pic, about the same. So I looked around on ebay just to see and there's a NM single six XRN-3Red frame, so I looked it up and it could be alloy or steel and I would want steel for...

OMB 41 mag grip frame ears ?

Sorry for the slow response Hondo44. So, I like the idea. The process would be, buy a NM grip frame, any suggestions/reasonable price/fitting issues etc. Would I still be able to use the OM trigger hammer etc ? I'm comfortable with disassembly/reassembly, minor polishing, changing springs etc...

OMB 41 mag grip frame ears ?

No I haven't. I don't know why I would and by that, I mean I don't know why you'd do that, but I'm all ears.

OMB 41 mag grip frame ears ?

I picked up a 4 5/8" OMB 41 mag, ser # 40-089xx awhile back. I just noticed that the ears on the grip frame protrude above the frame by the base of the hammer a little bit (1/16") and where the grip frame and main frame above the trigger guard come together they are flush on the right side but...

    1st year production 77/44 ser # oo8xx in box, collectable ?

Thanks for the reply, I'm a shooter too, not a collector and I have a 77/357 and 5" GP 100 to shoot. Never done Gunbroker, but have been looking into it. We'll see if I have the gumption to do Gunbroker, makes me nervous. Thanks again

    1st year production 77/44 ser # oo8xx in box, collectable ?

I have a 77/44 mag in the original box, rings unopened, manual, first year production, serial #008xx. It is unmarked and appears unfired, however I'm not the original buyer so unfired is not 100%. 1st issue, Never sold a gun on the webb, 2nd issue, very unsure about value as there are quit a few...

    I did a dumb thing................

I know this goes against everything that's taught, but I have always oiled the threads, wiped off the excess oil, applied the Loctite and torqued to spec. Never had a screw come loose and when teardown time comes, screws come out and cleanup is easy. Works for me.

    GP-100 Binding Up

I had the same issue with my 5" GP 100. Called Ruger, they sent me a shipping lable, gun was back in two weeks, they said it was something with the firing pin, not sure how that would cause what was happening but it works fine now. Thanks for excellent CS Ruger.
