Please say a prayer for the Watertender

They just gave me 3 Tylenols and if I breathe carefully it doesn't hurt too badly. Of course my ankle and sciatic nerve are another part of the pain. I think I have found a comfortable position and may actually be able to sleep a little bit
Just get comfortable, but don't get to comfortable with the dependency drugs. JMHO YMMV.

If it helped, I'd sing you a lullaby. But then you'd hate life even more. Rest easy.

You couldn't sound worse than some of the machinery you and I have worked on. They just drew some blood and gave me another oxycodone.
I overheard a couple of the night shift people talking about the delightful old man in Room 15! Most of them are young enough to be my kids or even grandkids. They must be talking about me unless there is another Room 15.
They have a hard enough time without having to deal with a grumpy old bastard

Oh, glad you clarified, I thought that you might have been in Room 14 :D :D SORRY. Glad you're recovering, take it easy and GET WELLL SOON (y)

Looking like I am going home. Everyone has been great to me and I have had them laughing. They put an extra gown on me to walk the hallway so I don't moon anyone. The food is decent and if I am here through lunch I may order something. It hasn't been a bad experience at all
You just got even for all of the inmate pictures I post.
The thought of you mooning has left me psychologically blind :p

But I am glad you are doing OK 👍

They gave me oxycodone when I had my knee replaced. I had a severe reaction to it, broke out in hives all over and UNBELIEVABLE itching. Never again.

Nice hospital administrator, from what you hear that is a contradiction, back when I was in 6 years ago did the same thing for me.
Sounds like you are doing good and at least so far my experiences with the medical folks is they are the best folks around.

It's nice to be home but I'm not sleeping well. My left ankle and sciatic nerve are screaming. The last time I really slept was a couple of nights ago. I can't find a comfortable position that I can sleep in.
I usually am on.my right side but have a dressing on my ribs under my arm so that position is not going to work. I can't shower until Saturday so I feel disgusting.
My wife got some new pillows that are very nice and I'm trying to use them to get comfortable with but it's not really working.

Good news. Not that you'll do it, but take it slow. Let the kids do the heavy stuff.
I'm there just to make sure that the equipment is running properly. Unless it's a minor repair I don't handle it. Those days are done. I will advise and plan but the 12lb sledgehammer and 4ft pipe wrench with a 10ft cheater pipe are a thing of the past for me

Somehow I have a feeling that if need be...

I thought I was past doing boiler emergency stuff. One morning I was at a customer and the sightglass on a Nebraska blew out. The glass ball checks didn't stop the flow. The operator, a smallish guy, tried to get up to the sightglass platform. Between his size and the already heavy and now water soaked uniform and the wet and slippery ladder he just couldn't get up. So up I went. Valves were STUCK. The operator got me a pipe wrench and I finally got the glass isolated.

Turned out someone had closed the valve halfway negating the safety ball check function. I had no idea how long it had been since anyone had moved those valves. The chief engineer went ballistic. That didn't ever happen again. They got moved every day after that.

Every day I swing the isolation chains on the gauge glasses to either extreme and center them. It takes 10 seconds and is to your benefit safety wise.
I have a feeling that you and I would get along well

On Wednesday I'm having surgery on my right lung to remove a cancerous nodule.
I've had this particular doctor work on my left lung in 2017 and 2022 and he is great.
It doesn't hurt to have a few extra words on your behalf when going in for something like this.
THANKS!!!
How did they determine it was cancerous...MRI? They found a "nodule" on one of my lungs a few months ago but that was all they told me.
