What's a good distance to sight it in?
The approximate distance you intend to shoot it at.What's a good distance to sight it in?
Appreciate your post. I'll check out sighting mine at both 50 and 100 yards. I'll likely split the difference at some arbitrary point within. I love this carbine and certainly considered the popularity and and availability of 9mm ammo. Again, thanks to all above posts!I own a Ruger PC 9 carbgine in 9mm and have sighted mine it at 50 yards and very accurate at that distance with whatever ammunition I use. Opens up a bit at the 100 yard range, but still suitable if you had to shoot at that distance for a target of whatever. Just my experience and do like the firearm.
I haven't been attacked by any rabid water jugs lately!!!"A 9mm at distance is not exactly "Thor's Hammer", either..."
OK?? Here's my take on this: even though the 9mm 147 grain doesn't start out very fast, it also doesn't lose it's velocity quickly either. A reliably expanding bullet will still be fairly effective even at 100 yards. I shot some of my custom loaded sub-sonic 147 grain HST's into water filled jugs @ 100 yards. Not as impressive as up close but not a pin prick either.
I heard they are deadly on those mail boxes in Texas.I didn't buy a 9X19 carbine and 33-round magazines to aim at stuff 100 yards away so I like mine to put 33 holes in a paper plate from front door to mailbox (for me) distance. That's less than 100 yards for a lot and not even close for others.
