If anyone else is intrigued by this, Bud's has both the LCR and LCRx in .327 for around $625. They also have 9mm SP101s and LCRs for $666 and $625 respectively. I found the small price difference between the two 9mm revolvers interesting …

I remember reading an article by some prior "high speed operator" type who chose the LCR in .327 as his EDC. He explained his logic. Seemed to make sense for his situation.

Ok 327 = 6 shots, 22lr =8 shots. If you are loading down with the .327, you may be in the 22lr ballpark. Spend that $500 in ammo on 22lr and practice

Personally, I don't load down the 327 for carry. I tried the American Eagle 100 gr JSP but was too "blasty" and had nasty recoil. I currently carry Buffalo Bore 130 gr hard cast swc, which is still powerful but not as obnoxious to the shooter. I change out to some handloads with hardcast 100 gr in 32 h&r brass when piddling around the farm.

The Critical Defense 32HRM load, I have heard, meets the FBI criteria just fine, so that's what I carry in my LCR. lot of noise there too, but might be better for repeat shots DAO.
My back up pieces are SP 101s with 85 or 90 gr 327 loads. I have three. Two in my vehicle or man bag, LCR at two o'clock and one at home. I like the idea of New York reloading rather than fumbling with cartridges in the dark.
Winchester 20 ga Defender with 3 buckshot loaded and in the trunk too sometimes or at home.
