Hoffman's has 30-06 for $299.95.

LGS in NH had all four calibers in stock a couple of weeks ago, the 308 and 243 rifles had a recessed muzzle crown, the 30-06 and 270 versions did not....they were asking a little more than I wanted to spend so I passed... I am waiting to get the 308 when I can....they are out there...I am not sure in what quantity but I have seen them... 8)

Well drat! Sorry to hear that, but it is confusing.

I called Hoffman and whoever I talked to told me they shipped out of state. Guess I talked to the wrong worker. In fact that's still on their website right now:

So that's confusing. Maybe they mean they ship within CT? What's the point of that?

Anyway, my rifle is coming from Sportsman Supply Company. I had a bid on their GunBroker auction, then spotted Hoffman. I expected to lose that GB auction and buy from Hoffman. Then I won the auction only about $5 over the Hoffman price. so no big deal really. Still getting a good price and I've had great service from Sportsman Supply too on other buys.

Academy Sporting Goods in TX has them for $379, I handled one
yesterday in 30-06 not a bad rifle reminded me of a Tikka.

I called Hoffman's and they said they were not selling out of state at the moment since ruger is not filling any new orders and they are keeping their inventory for local customers. Normally they do ship out of state.

$379 sounds rather steep. Have seen them sell on GunBroker downwards of $320.

I like to use Google, click on "Shopping". Get all sorts of prices.

Then check what's on GunBroker, perhaps a few other websites I am used to.

Takes minutes these days to see a bunch of prices, get a good idea of the range things are selling for.
