I bought an M1 Garand with lots of clipped 30-06 and 30 cal. carbine ammunition from a Great Friend of mine. He got this M1 Garand from the CMP in the very early 90s. He shot it one time since his purchase. It has a pre-WWII receiver with a SA 5 44 barrel that appears to be New. I have not gauged it.

The next day I picked up a Winchester M1 Carbine from my FFL that I got in a trade. It is in Excellent condition.

I am now in the process of cleaning/lubing these two new M1s.

Congrats on your purchases....both great guns..... On the Garand, if you have some M2 ball ammo you can take a round and gently place the bullet into the muzzle end of the barrel and get a rough idea of the bore condition ( old timers method )....if it fits in the barrel almost all the way you have a worn barrel...

I had a few CMP Garands back in the day and it's amazing how good some of them were

Congratulations on your recent additions. I've got a 1941 Winchester Garand and a 1942 Winchester Carbine myself and they are really great shooters…if they could talk I'm sure they'd have some great stories to tell. Also have a M1A, it is a Springfield Glenn Nelson super match and talk about a tack driver, not that I'm trying to put any ideas in your head, but since you have the MG in your picture I had to point out you are missing one piece to complete the set LOL. Wish I could afford to add a 1919 to my lineup 🤔

I think I have what you are looking for. This pic was taken when I rearranged my safes.

OMG You've got quite a collection there, I can only dream of having all those… but I do see a couple familiar faces there, IZZY HB and M1A, that's about it 🥲. But at least I have a goal now. Just remembered I've got to go fertilize the money tree out back 🤣 Thanks for sharing

That is a Smith Ent. M21 not an M1A. That is a very old picture. I do have an M1A built for the late Walt Langendorfer, inventor of the first gas piston for the M16/AR-15. It was called the Rhino Device. There is also a Colt M16 laying there and a Luftwaff Red 9.

Back in the days of the DCM they sold rebuilt M1 s done with new parts. I must of seen 20+ DCM Garands purchased by club members and they all looked brand new. The best part they only cost $121.00 shipped.

Nice collection.
Have a 1942 Springfield Garand and a 1955 5.7mil Springfield Garand. Two 1944 Underwood Carbines and a 1943 Remington Rand 1911.
Years ago Sportsman Guide had tins of 1943 Evansville Chrysler .45acp ammo for a good price, bought two 660 round tins from them.
Corrosive and steel case.
