I had a tang safety 77 in .257. A great shooter. Killed a bunch of deer with it. One day I was hunting some cutover hillsides, watching with my binoculars. My oldest daughter, about 15 at the time, was with me. A big old doe came along a ridgetop about two hollers across from us and bedded down facing directly toward us. My rangefinder said 247 yards. I laid down, took a rest on my pack and shot her right between the eyes with that .257.
