Just discovered that Ruger says not to shoot +P int he LC9. My standard 9mm carry round is Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P. So, now I need to decide between Gold Dot 124gr (non +P) or Gold Dot 147gr. Any suggestions? Obviously whatever ammo I choose I will be sure to adequately test before relying on.

The manual does not say not to use +p ammo, it says that continuous use of +p will shorten the gun's life. It does say not to use +p+ ammo. If I were to put 20-30 rounds of the +p through my LC9 without any problems, I would trust that for carry.

However, that said, I have chosen not to use any +p ammo. My carry ammo is either regular pressure 124 grain Gold Dots, Federal HST, or Golden Sabre. I don't think any law enforcement agencies use 147 grain bullets.
