Rubber and wood.
If your gun is a 3 inch barrel, use the compact grips.
I feel the same way about the OEM rubber grips, Hogue offers two different types on their website. If you look at the picture of my Match Champion above you'll see that the grip I use is closer to the Match Champion wood grip than it is to the OE rubber grip that comes on most GPS.For some reason, the OEM rubber finger grooves just didn't fit my grip. They weren't the prettiest, but did fine absorbing the 357 recoil. The Chig's grips inserts with the rubber grip seem to be the best of both worlds for me.
Yep. I have wood on my 3" .44 Special GP-100. Would like to find a 'shorter' wood grip for concealment purposes as the one I have has finger grooves (yuck) and is 'big' for the gun. Rubber just doesn't belong on a revolver (or pistol for that matter) . Opinion only. This is why options are good!
