That is a great find. I have a couple of 1914 Canadian Contract Commercial (Government) models but yours would be one of my dream finds with the keyhole mag and fire blue small parts.

Chet the "Government" model is actually the one most people call Commercial. The Military model is called the "Model of 1911 US Army" or Navy depending.

Chet, I guess it is kinda like the MKI and standard auto issues.....

All the civilian commercial pistols have GOVERNMENT MODEL roll marked on them the military say property of UNITED STATES....

Other than that not any difference .....except the serial numbers all the commercials start with C or end with C untill the series 70's came out.....

The Military have No xxxxxxx as the serial numbers......RR

I just found this extra KEY HOLE MAG today......
