I just brought home 520-21553 from Shoot Straight in Apopka, FL (407.889.0842). They have another one in the display case, I didn't get the serial #.

Here's my gun & information.
I'm a happy camper. It's going in the safe as is.

My label reads BLUED not HIGH POLISHED. Mine was also test fired on April 13, 2010.

My three say BLUED also. Bob, you might have a unique box label.

I also noticed your s/n is way lower than the other examples that I have seen. Mine are all in the 55x range and yours is 226 - quite a spread. I know that Ruger is notorious for not having sequentially grouped numbers, but I would have thought with such a limited run they would have been. :?

It looks like guns in the 21200 range have brown grips, and 21500 range have brown grips, but there are some including mine in the 21400 range that have gray grips. My label does not have "high polished" on it.

Hey, do you guys think Ruger may have "DISCOVERED" the collector?????

It is a well known fact that the "OLD MAN" despised collectors but heck ain't no Ruger family left at the factory anymore.......sure seems funny all the "short run" stuff they are releasing........good thing I don't do NM stuff...sure seems like a never ending endeavor.....HECK, I haven't even got all the OLD ONES YET    BUT I am trying.......   see ya RR

Rod may very well have a point.

Have ya all noticed how the U.S. Mint has been catering to the collector market for the last few years? Many folks are coming to the conclusion that all those "collector" coins will never be worth any more than face value.

Manufactured collectibles . . .rarely are.

I'm not sure if Ruger is catering to the collectors. If they were, they'd be offering these guns themselves and cataloging them. Instead, these are all Distributor special orders.

I think the distributors have figured out that there is a collector market and they are capitalizing on it. Ruger is just filling orders...

Just my take on it.
