I hope that no one minds a Marlin ....... This ol Marlin was handed down to my dad from his, then to me, it is an 1893, 30-30 with a 26" barrel serial number dates it to 1901, it has been well used and still shoot great, I will never get rid of it.
There great guns.
I have two of them and shoot both of them.
One is a take down made in 1897. The other in 1924.
My brother used the one made in 1924 to kill an elk with this past year.
I too love the old Marlins I have quite a few.... Latest I picked up in fairly nice condition was a 1893 in 38-55, bore was excellent! Been looking a long time for one in good shape.
Marlins in my opinion were /are a working mans gun like Rugers & they were used well. IMHO!
That is a fact. One of the guns I have always wanted is a Marlin model 39 .22 magnum to go with my convertible single six and .22lr model 39. The perfect trifecta, .
