Does anyone have information of first stainless Super Blackhawk year.
I have found the serial # list by year. But no luck when stainless arrived on the scene.
I always thought the New models in 1973 started with Ruger making "stainless steel" parts at Pinetree Castings for their New models , across the board, all models.......do not believe RENE specified "stainless in their serial number listings, but in the "model description ( catalog numbers)at the start of the chapters........
recall the Old Armies were early on then.....
I "think" a scant few low back Six Series double actions came out in the 1973 range but that's DOUBLE action and I'm not that big on single action stuff to know. Makes sense I guess if they could pump out double actions they could do it with single as well.
Pretty sure it was 1983 for the Super Blackhawk. But the stainless 357 blackhawk and single six were 1974.
Not sure why it took so long for the stainless super

Yes, I had a SS .357 Blackhawk around 1977 for sure, and may not have been new then. I know there were no SS Supers at that time or I would have had one.
