this started out as a Large frame hammer but I shortened it slightly to work with my Mid frame flattop. as you can see in the third picture this area was polished to 2000 grit and left in the white. it wasn't visible so I never bothered to cold blue it. I also polished the trigger/hammer sear area and the trigger return spring shelf (no major metal was removed, just polished smooth) has a really great trigger pull.

there is one spot on the back of the trigger where the bluing is gone (see last picture) i think it was like that when i got it but can't remember for sure. anyway it's not really visible.

i'll throw in a Wolff 17# or 19# hammer spring. your choice.

price is $50 shipped. would consider trading towards an RCBS 270SAA mold or maybe some other kind of 45 cal mold.

Maybe explain the hammer modification? Can it still be used in a large frame? How is it changed? I'm not in the hunt, but I also don't really understand what it could be used in.

It looks like all he did was shorten the top of the hammer to where it'll go under the rear sight. It should fit a Blackhawk just fine.

Tyrone is correct. it was shortened at the top of the hammer so it would fit under the rear sight of a Midsize flattop 44spl. it was not shortened much though so it should still work just fine with a regular large frame Blackhawk.
