Don't think it matters on the model or caliber, but I have a (newer) Ruger Blackhawk 30 cal. that I want to put a set of Stag grips on for a Bar-B-Que gun.... any help, suggestions or offers here?

Here is the knife I want to 'match' the grips with:

A few words of wisdom (experience) I don't think you want that much bark on handgun grips. They will "bite" you with the recoil. Especially on magnum calibers.

HERE WE GO:..........Where did you learn about the "most valuable" stag grips? First place: the more bark the better, and probably, the older the grips; Second, It's a Bar-B-Que gun....Nobody shoots a gun at a BBQ, unless: some Form of meat is being eyed and attempts at theft are apparent. Could include a steak or a GIRLFRIEND.............Be Wary............JUST SAYN'

Right ON Hawk...I forgot about the Girlfriend ...In fact I can't remember when I had a Girlfriend it's been sooooooo long ago.

Actually, I think that might be a good point.... another revolver I was thinking about doing this with 'bites' with the standard wood grips on it... this is a J P Sauer & Son Western Marshall in 357... and for those that have never shot a Blackhawk in .30 cal. carbine.... that is a 'magnum' gun too.... if shooting at a range it will get everybody's attention. And just because it is going to be a BBQ gun does not mean I don't want it to function and function well.

But, depending on what I spend on some stag grips, I can always go back to the original wood.

I'm also considering stag grips for my all stainless Springfield 1911, but this just doesn't seem like it would fit with that Texas tooth pick.

I have a set of XR3-RED sambar stag grips that have a medallion installed in them. They are great looking grips. I would need $275, shipped, for them. If you are interested in them, please email me at bigbore45colt @ ptd.net (remove spaces in front of and after the @) and we can discuss off-line.

I would suggest you contact Patrick and see what he can do. I have almost a dozen sets and the bark varies according to what I requested.

Only cost an e-mail!
