WTB mini-30 mags

just putting a feeler out there for some mini 30 mags! my dad just purchased a 189 series and he is wanting some mogs for it! at the moment he only has 1 - 5rd mag and is wanting more.... 5rds,10rds,20rd,30rd, and anything else he can find let me know what you have for sale and i will pass this info on to him and we can go from there!

Ruger has all that stuff on their website. Plus Midway. I personally prefer Ruger factory mags for my Mini-14's and Mini-30, but your mileage may vary.

Sam, I have a ten rounder for sale. I just listed in the ads. Sorry I didn't see your post until now. It is new and I'll take 12 dollars shipped for it. I had a bunch of them (10's) and they worked great. This one in new, never loaded or put in the gun. No scratches or dings. Be careful of the non-factory 20's and 30's. I never had a single one to feed right and I tried a bunch of em. There's still a bunch of those out there for sale too, pretty cheap sometimes. I actually threw some away out of frustration.

I was under the impression that Ruger never made any of their own Mini-30 hi-cap mags...but could be wrong.

Avoid USA-brand mags..I got several, all duds, and they told me, "Tough luck"...after which GUN TESTS ran an item about my experience in their publication.

Same for Triple K. I called them and was told basically that "their" mags could not fail and it must be my gun, er, both of them. They were junk and that's before I knew the mag story for the Mini 30. I had a bunch and all failed every time. I had a coworker at the time and he literally wore the feed lips out on some trying to get them to work. The main reason I sold my Mini's, but now you can get some factories that work just fine.

Yes, twenty rounders are available on their web site. 39.95 I think last time I looked.

Order them and put them on back order... they'll show up in a week or two.

Aftermarket mags for the mini-30 are notorious for having problems.... I think the main problem is the springs on them are too tight.... I think most will work if you do two things... only load to 75% capacity and polish under the feed lip.

I've got some aftermarket 30 rounders I might be willing to let go of... but I would only load to 20... in 7.62x39... 20 rounds is a hefty amount especially in a mini-30.

Had these mags been available a few years ago, I'd still have both of my 30's. I still have the Mini 14 and it is one of my favorites. Ruger made a big mistake in not supporting these guns for so long.

If I was a man of means I'd buy up a lot of mini 30's and perfect a "frankenstein" type of AK magwell conversion. That's really what Ruger should have offered from the get go.

The whole problem I think was the company had to support bill rugers misguided statement of no honest man needs more than ten rounds which I believe wad made before congress and he was probably trying to kiss some butts and not have them totally screw his company.

I got your private post, but had to go out of town. Will try to see what I got next week. I still think one or two factory mags are your best bet.
