Being you say you got this gun in 1973 that would be a transistion model ( new model?) and have the old model cylinders in it, bet your mag cylinder is NOT rollmarked "Magnum" and has flutes.....so to be "correct" you need the old model 22 cal ( LR) cylnder that has the firing pin groove going around the rear , from chamber to chamber...good luck, they are out there..........measure your cylinder that is NOW in the gun for an overall length, I"m guessing around 1.620" nominal............ 8)
PS. if your 9 1/2 inch is in fact an OM model, 3 screw, left over, you got a good one there,,,either way ,,,a 'keeper'
just what is YOUR gun marked as on the cylinder frame?? is it a New model (pinned gun ) or an Old model 3 screw variation???? was wondering just what kind of box the New model (long barrel) would have come in as the 1973 New models basically only had TWO boxes ( the red /white short RST box and the longer red /white BN36 box) all they did was change the end labels............
