looks like a sink clip.....to hold a K/S down to the counter top......there were many, many different types and configurations.....a lot specific to the brand of sink, ie, Am Std, Kohler, Dayton, Crane, U/R, Ejer, Elkay....I think ya get the point

Either that or for a bypass door.
