Has anyone ever seen one with English stock or has this one been modified. Top one was purchased by my father mid 1930s for in the five dollar range found the other in a gun shop.

I'd say it's been modified, I've never seen a single one without a pistol grip stock before. Looks like whomever done the work did an excellent job though.

That is pretty cool! I agree it’s been modified. My model 67 still gets a lot of use dealing with ground hogs, skunks etc around the homestead.

Yes butt plate is the same.
Yes, most likely modified, I recall our gunsmith in our shop did some like that many years ago,,,,nice job and easy enough to do when you have nice grain layout like the one on your gun,,,,Nice one, and BOTH guns are "a keeper"........(y)(y)

I have the same one with the pistol grip and the finger groves is the first year made 1934 only year they had finger groves, Great shooter

As I understand it, the Winchester 67 1934
with the Large Thumb Screw is considered
the “Take Down Model”.
I too have the 1st year 1934 Model. Mine was
definitely a Farm Rifle. It is in rough shape. Now
that I am the caretaker of it, I treat it as if it is the
last one on Earth.
One thing that is surprising is how accurate it is.
I take it to the range every once in awhile. A lot
of times I forget to cock it to fire it. Fun to shoot.

I Love those single shot Win. 22s . I began collecting them a dozen or so years ago . They are really getting pricey as most older guns are . 
My uncle used a Winchester Model 67 for raccoon hunting. I would go with him sometimes and ended up carrying the carcasses for him to skin out. This was over 50 years ago and I enjoyed going whenever I had the chance.

I have 3 model 67's. The first I bought in 1961. I was 12 years old and this was in Napa California. No background check, just paid the $20.00 plus tax and walked home about 7 blocks and nobody even looked twice at me. Sold it 5 years later to a friend and years later he gave it back to me along with it's twin brother. My third one I have one I got 43 years ago. It is the youth model version. I traded a 12 gauge Hercules shotgun for it. My wife always enjoyed shooting it as did my daughter and my grand daughter. I have been buying extra parts as I can afford them. My original is buried deep in the vault, so it's not in the picture.

A Model 67 was the first gun I ever had. (Really wish I still had it!) My parents give it to me in 1960, when I was 10. My Mom got it with S&H Green Stamps she had saved from the local Acme! Those were the days.

I got my first 1/4 x 3/8 inch drive tool set with S&H Green Stamps. Stevens Walden brand. I remember Blue Chip stamps. Releigh coupons, sure do. Where do you think I got this iron lung. Cough cough. Remember Flying A Win A Checks at the gas station.

My step grandfather smoked Raleigh cigarettes. They got a badminton set and a croquet set with those coupons.

I still have binoculars my dad got with Raleigh coupon. Fell in Lake Superior with the . He dried them in the oven still work.

Modified would be my guess, and I may have an idea why. Looking at the grain in the stock, it looks like a drop on to a rock might easily have knocked off at least a portion of the grip. And if that piece is lost or too damaged to glue back, rounding and refinishing would sure be a viable option.
