Winchester 94 ??

Figure we might have a few winchester guys on here. I have a 94 I am thinking of selling. Before I do I am trying to find some info. Here is the info on the gun. 44 magnum trapper made in 1994 has the 1894-1994 stamp has crossbolt safety. Now for the odd part. The gun has a checkered laminate stock win tuff I believe it was called. I can find record of 30/30s being offered with this stock. But not the 44s.

Gun was bought new and I still have the box gun has been fired but otherwise it is in new in box like condition. I have been hunting for info on this everyone seems to be stumped. Thinking this was a very limited run. Bought it at Gander Mountain. At the time gander was just in Wisconsin so I am thinking the production numbers were low and not many have made it out of my area. Looking for any insight as to pricing. Seen one other for sale that was beat and 700 was the asking price. Several years ago I was offered 800 for the gun. I want to price if fair but I want to get as close to full market value out of it as well.

I think they put those stocks on a lot of their rifles. My 94/22M has one. Some people like the laminate, but others would just prefer walnut. Wish I could help you out more.

Not sure of the actual value Nice looking I like it.
Too bad they added those safety's to them Unneeded IMO. Centenial model may bring a premium! 1894-1984. Looks like an AE model ? ps

A few years ago... after the 2005 closing of New Haven, prices soared and everyone wanted a 94 and 9422, maybe because they thought the common rifles were never going to stop appreciating? Nowadays the prices are starting to come down to Earth once again. In my travels I see a few LGS stores every week, and the only 94's still fetching post-2005 prices seem to be the Big Bore guns without the CB safety. Even the 9422's are down around $500-550 in places, which is still twice the 2004 NIB cost, but much more affordable for the 40% of the 99%.

The 1894-1994 stamp adds practically nothing in value, it was an afterthought at USRAC. If I had a 1994 WinTuff 44M trapper in fired condition with no visible wear or marks on wood or metal, I keep it for a $500 offer (as a shooting woods gun its a great walking deer rifle) but take a $700 offer in a NY minute. most collectors are not interested in the models with the cross bolt safety even with one new in the box, I would keep it as shooter.

Not looking to keep it as a shooter. Need the cash and I have a whole bunch of Ruger 44 rifles in various configurations. I have been watching auctions. Standard trappers with the safety are bringing 600 to as high as 700 in similar condition. Last gun show one of the wintuffs that was beat went for 700. Was working a deal for nearly 800 but the buyer got cold feet.So I might have to wait for the right buyer but I think this has some value.

List it at www.leverguns.com for the best price. It will sell there and they will let you know what the current market is on this piece. Nice rifle and hard to find in that condition.
