Why I still go to gun shows.

First local gun show of the year was today. Went for the exercise and with a little money in my pocket just in case. I ended the walking tour and went back for a second look at an RDA– 36T that was calling my name. A 1982 gun with box, Ruger logo plastic bag, the wax paper wrap for the barrel.and the instruction manual dated ‘81. I think it was worth my nine dollars to get in.

Cleaned up a bit. Now it’s time to go shoot it and get it dirty for real.

That is the same reason we still go to the shows here at times. You never know the diamond in the rough you may locate. That one cleaned up great. We are hoping to find a few: Ruger Security Six in 4" whether stainless or blue, S&W 15 snub nose or one of the early CZ-75 pistols among others. We did pick up a S&W 38/44 HD, other than a replace the grips and clean up, great revolver and one we have been offered a lot than we paid as those N Frame Smiths have more collectors wanting to acquire them.

I too enjoy every gun show I attend. I may not find a steal of a deal on a gun,, but often I do find little things that make it very worthwhile.

The $9 was only worth it if the price was good on the SS. If you paid $2K for the gun I'd say you should have stayed home.

Pretty desirable package to many double action guys.
Love the “Big Grip” on the box end label. Not saying that’s rare but do think it’s way more scarce than others. When that same box came up for sale recently I bought it even though I don’t have the gun.

Nice one and you did good, we sold the same package like that 3 shows back but it had the later Ruger target rubber grips on it, with the small medallions.....(y)(y)

I used to go to gunshows often and always enjoyed it. It was just the anticipation of what you are going to find there, and I never minded the admission fee, it was usually cheaper than going to the movies and can enjoy the conversations even if you don't buy something. Age has slowed me down and I don't go much anymore. Maybe I can take in a couple of them this year.
