Hi: I'm trying to find the correct speed loader to use with my Stainless Speed Six 4". HKS seems to be a very popular brand. Any information/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is the one I use for my speed six and security six:

I got mine off a "used" bench at local gun shop, but same make and numbers.

Always used the HKS for my Sixes. Midway sells them for 9.99 but they go on sale a lot for a buck or so less.

You can usually find them at gun shows in the $9.00 range also.

The HKS MK3-A...That's what I use for my Ruger Police Service-Six (same Speedloader as Speed-Six/Security-Six).

The Safariland speedloaders are MUCH quicker than the HKS ones.

They are a push activated design and hold the rounds very tightly (no jiggling around). Line up and push, the rounds are automatically ejected into the chambers.

Best prices I could find on the net, and a heck of a nice guy if you find the need to call him.

The Safariland speedloaders are on sale at Midway USAs website for $9.99 each. I currently use the HKS M3 for my Sercurity Six. I do plan to buy the Safariland to compare.

I've carried both on duty when we carried revolvers ,and I find that the Safariland are much quicker and easies to use under stress .There's no twisting or other things you have to do to release the rounds .Just line up the rounds and push .When the release button in the middle of the loader contacts the back of the extractor pin ,it just sore if throws the rounds into the cylinder .I have both but prefer the Safariland over the HKS .
Also you can get the Safariland in three diffrent types .One a duty holder with a small button on the back ,and it's even smaller than the knob on the HKS, next is a slightly larger knob type and then a very large knob for competition use .The duty ones are much easiers to carry in a pocket than A HKS
