Gents - I located a SS Blackhawk in 327 Fed a while back at a LGS. I was told it was sold at the store originally, kept unfired by the owner and then traded on something else, a few weeks before I bought it. It definitely appeared NIB, but it was missing the lock that's usually included from the factory. I forgot about it, until moving a few gun boxes over the weekend. So I'm now on the look out for the "correct" padlock to complete the package. The fired cased envelope lists a date from 2011 - can anyone provide me with a pic or description of which lock was included with the Blackhawk revolvers around that time. I'd greatly appreciate the help, if it's the same as the currently issued ones, I'll reach out to Ruger directly, if not I'll try here on the forum - Thanks for your time - Bill in MA

I thought the 327 Blackhawk was produced several years earlier than '11. I'm pretty sure it was a one year production in about '08 or so. Ruger made a very limited run of a two tone Blackhawks in '13 but that was several years after original Stainless came out. If I can figure out how to post pictures I can post one of the two tone with lock and box.

This is the only picture I have on my computer right now. you can not see the whole lock but maybe enough

lolbell - That is a variation that I never knew existed, congrats on finding it! Maybe mine was made on '08, but not test fired until 2011??? I have no idea but according to the fired case envelope in my hands model #0353 serial # 38-0929X was stamped by Julia Anderson on MAR 05 2011 in Newport NH. I've read here about "clean up" guns and maybe mine falls into this category?. I'll check Ebay, when I have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking to find. Appreciate any additional info anyone can provide - Thanks again Bill

I've done a little research and found that Ruger didn't announce the BLACKHAWK in 327 until Jan of 2010. It was , I believe, the SP101 that came out in '08. I'll try to get a better picture of the lock and post it when I get home. I have a Stainless BH in 327 but I acquired it in a trade and did not get the box, papers or lock but believe the two tone would have the same lock.

Ruger has had different variations of a lock included with their guns for a while. It's likely the padlock type shown MAY be the correct one to match the missing one.

I've got one for a FT Bisley that the fired round is dated 2010. It's a silver lock with a black clasp and black "caps" on the lock. Not sure if it's the one you need but you're welcome to it. Never been out of the package.

Thanks guys for the info. I did send an email to Ruger CS and they replied in a few hours, stating it would have been shipped with a pad lock, rather than the cable lock style. Now I need to locate one. Thanks Bill
