Ok, so I got took! Bought a Ruger 50th anniversary on an auction site based on pics and statement that the "marring" was just superficial (on the barrel). Came with a bull barrel advertised as a replacement. Got it and noticed that the guy probably tried to remove the barrel with a pipe wrench, obviously didn't know what he was doing with the thought in mind to replace the barrel with a bull barrel, what an idiot! Or should I say that of myself? Anyway, back to the problem. I'm anal when it comes to my guns, sent it off to Ruger for refinishing etc. and asked them to do what they could with the barrel and if not possible to install the bull barrel. Got a call (these folks at the factory are great) from a tech who said they'd try to do what they could with the existing barrel but the bull was actually a MKIII (50th Anniversary is a MKII). So, here's my conundrum, I'm gonna sell the bull but what should I ask for it? I think its around 5" plus and looks pretty good to me, no scratches etc. Of course I'll stand behind it as well, unlike the seller that is.
