Yes, its a Ruger M77RLS carbine. Fairly rare & made only for acouple years in short action .243 & .308Win. Chamberings.

The RLS carbine was also made in LA .270 & .30-06 in a larger quantity & a longer duration than the SA chamberings. I own one in .308Win & its a real nice carrying brush rifle!

I believe a small run was made in 358 Win as well. It was a short barrel iron sight model, too. Not sure exact model number.

I bought 2 (new) @ a NH gun shop, many years ago - one was a M-77RS (iron sights), the other a M-77R (smooth barrel).

I'd love to find a 308

do what I did. My 308 RSI wouldn't hold zero from year to year despite my free floating best I could & glass bed the action. So a Texas stock maker lopped off the fore end & installed beautiful ebony fore end piece, just like factory. Now shoots great Sierra 165 gr HPBT.

Seems I had eight of these, in the four calibers noted, four were walnut and four were laminate. Came from the old Buckeye Sports back in the early 90's. Still have one in walnut 270 and a NIB laminate, will have to check on caliber............Should have been a regular in the lineup :!:
