Hello,

New member..... lifelong shooter and hunter..... and am thinking about picking a new GP100 soon. I like red dot sights and would want to mount one I already have on the gun. So .....

For those of you that have a Weigand "No-Drill" Scope Mount:

How stable a platform is it?
Problems shooting loose?
Quality?

Thanks in advance!!!

Works well on my SBH Hunter in 44 Mag. Make sure the screws are tight and you will not have a problem. Some folks use 242 Loctite on them.

Comes with instructions on where to apply blue locktite.

NEVER had an issue on my 6" GP100 .... money very well spent

While I do not have any myself, I have been around this site long enough to have heard a LOT of good about them. I say go for it.

+ 1

I have one on my Bisley Hunter and it has never loosened up.

Had one on my SS Hunter for about five years to hold a reddot. While recoil was never a factor, I have a bad habit of carrying scoped handguns and rifles using the scope as a handle. Used Blue loctite. POI never moved. I was impressed.

Had one on my 460 S&W. (sold)

Wife has one on her 29 Classic, still holdong tight.

I think this is the one he is talking about.

I have heard that the front and rear attachment points can take a beating but I would bet that would not be a problem with a RedDot. 8) 8)

You are correct .... that is the model I'm speaking of.... with a red dot mounted on top.

My gut tells me this mount would be more solid on a 4" barrel because the attachment points are closer together.
