I remember this. Happened up in Nome. This was several years ago. Maybe 10 years ago or so. Tough deal. Best I remember he was on his snow machine and turned to get his Camera and when he turned around the bear was on him. He was well thought of in the community. Seems like he was a teacher or something.

The food chain. Try to stay on top. For dangerous African Game they use heavy copper solids to punch through to vitals. Some 45 Lehigh's would do the trick with proper placement.

True! It also said it was believed the bear was charging in a predatory manner to eat brush yet he wasn't able to eat the salmon carrion littering the area and was relegated to eating grass. Evidently giant bears get HANGRY too!

No doubt. Curious to know what caused his revolver to jam.
Probably the last bullet got "pulled" out due to the recoil, keeping the cylinder from rotating.
