Perhaps less graceful, but readily available are Warne's product for Rugers: http://warnescopemount.com/product/ruger-rings/
There is no comparison.

Those vertical rings also exist for the M77 but are super rare!!
To tell the difference, each ring for the M77 is a different height.

I THINK if you find a LOW vertical ring or a set of LOW rings it's from a 77.
I've never found a non prefix #1 with verticals that weren't MEDIUM rings.
Has anybody found a early #1 that came with LOW verticals?
I'd love a set of LOWS but suspect that what you would be looking for is TWO sets of very very rare 77 Vertical rings.

My experience with the vertical rings on No.1's is that they are Low rings, The one set of M77 verticals that I ever had, the rear ring was a Medium. They came with #23, which was Pete Brown's rifle. Mr. Brown was long time friend of Bill Ruger and long time associated with Sports Afield.

Uno: Yep, sort of. Just miked several sets the measurement from the bottom of the inside of the ring to the bottom surface is .324 on the verticals that I have and .332 for the low horizontals. It looks like .437 for the medium horizontals.
I find it interesting that the screw that tightens the ring to the receiver was on the right side on the verticals and the left side on the horizontals.
Veritcals are also thicker. The verticals are .732 and the horizontals are .626.
I've only ever seen one set of verticals for a 77 in the last 40+ years.
