Value of an SR556 FB

I have an opportunity to buy a Ruger SR556 FB Rifle 5.56mm Nato. with EOTech Holographic laser model 518 but not sure if its worth considering. Its presented as new in box and never fired (to be determined). Selling price is $2800. Seems steep to me and since its the older style Ruger SR are they asking to much or am I not seeing the value? Thanks in advance.

Current wholesale on two versions of the Eotech 518 are $400 and $800. Last wholesale on the gun was around $1350 IIRC. If you HAVE to have it, offer 2K for the package and walk away if they turn it down. There are plenty of quality new piston guns in other brands for that $$.
