Val Kilmer is starring in a new movie

AI is already infesting the music industry as well... Think new music by Prince, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, and so many more of your favorite musical performers---"Back from the dead!" I can hardly wait...

This is the future for Hollyweird, and can't come soon enough to get rid of the liberal offal that has infested the film industry! I have been saying for years that I can't wait to watch John Wayne in a new movie. I just hope that it is ready, not like the AI that they are using for audible books. Started listening to one of the latest Kurt Schlicter books, and had to stop, the AI voice was soooo bad it made it painful!
The Duke played in mostly wholesome movies. He was an actor to look up to. If he comes back as AI generated, his actions could make him look like a real sleezebag. THAT would not be a credit to him.

The hollywoke creeps can do whatever they want. They can invent new actors any which way. But they should leave old dead people alone. If they don't, their heirs should sue the crap out of them.

That is always the case, it can be done well, or poorly. I think the courts will be able to enforce the good side for the most part, giving the families the right to control the release of only movies that would depict JW as he was, and providing relief if a movie depicts him in an unwholesome way. Of course, there is always the black market side, like the use of grainy videos of "doubles, that have been circulated in porn.

Well, sort of anyway...His AI likeness will soon appear for 77 minutes in As Deep as the Grave
He signed on to star in the role, but it was never filmed, and then of course he died last year.
Permission was given by his estate and his daughter, who's receiving the payment for the role.
Seems like this is what the future of entertainment is going to be? And, judging by the trailer, it looks like it may very well be a pretty decent film. 🤔

Cool, now bring me back a younger, but milfish Piper Laurie.

I personally find this in poor taste and bordering on appalling. I always liked Val Kilmer’s acting but this is ghoulish money grubbing on the part of the producers and the estate.

Hummm...my personal jury is still out on this. The preview here actually looks pretty good. I guess we'll see. I assume that with a big production like this, the AI scenes will be "cleaned up", so to speak, so they don't have the typical AI errors like extra fingers and limbs attached to bodies in odd places and such. Is Kilmer's character the only AI actor here or is everybody AI and just consented to the use of their likeness? Did someone play Kilmer's part and then they AI'ed him to replace that actor in post-production? Is all the scenery and action AI also, or was it filmed the conventional way? Many questions.
I have the same questions.

Some thoughts:

Using AI as an animation tool is very different than a movie made by AI.

Basically CGI is becoming more automated, using AI. They call it AI generated. But is it really Artificial Intelligence?

AI can be told make a movie about X. The result would be truly AI generated

Obviously the line between the 2 is not always cleat cut.

Hollywood as we know it is dying
