I hope to put up pics, eventually.

Anyways...i got REALLY lucky...picked up serial 290-37xxx @ local Gander last year for...get this...$240.00, minus tax. LOVE it! And people sure seem impressed with my "deal" (that know of such things), lol...wasnt a deal; i got LUCKY...they didnt know what they had, and i did...I didnt even quibble on the price, :D ...

This last winter, stripped the stock, as it was a lil beat up, and the project sat since (yup, i know it may reduce collector value some, but I've NO plans of selling, I like refinishing stocks, and since the rest is and will stay original, this will make it "mine", lol). I'm just refinishing the stock with much hand labor n multiple coats of Tru-Oil; maybe will post some pics of that down the line...waaay down the line, as I hope to do this one "right"!

Now getting back to it, my interest caught, been tryin to dig up info. I dunno bout the specific problems, but i know this model had some, right? Also, the extractor...anyone got a pic of a 1 or 2 extractor model, so i might be able to see what i have? Are there things I need to replace or watch for? I shot it quite a bit untill i took the stock off last year with no issues, and its a keeper, so dont want to damage it...

Now...anyone got some factory rings that'll fit to mount a scope, n maybe a correct manual and/or box for sale?

Those are getting tougher to come by and not getting any cheaper. Nice grab!

Came across the same thing at Cabelas’s last winter. While looking at used rifles, spotted 3 older used 10/22’s, all priced at $239…and one was a .22M. I wasn’t really in the market for the mag version, so I wondered around the store awhile thinking about it.

Twenty minutes later I go back to purchase and wouldn’t you know, another guy snags it right in front of me.

You want your money back???????? Dang, I wish I could run across some deals like that!

Here's pics of the completed piece:

She's a keeper, too! Got an "SR" marked black "cobra" Sling and a Nikon Buckmaster 3x9x40 (that'll change) settin' on top...with this settup, and runnin' 30 grain Hornady VMax bullets, at 75yrds, all nine shots can cover the span of a quarter, dead center.

As a side note, I'd like to thank those in the classified section of the forum who offered to help with factory rings; especially member retired2006...they work well, considering the groups gotten!
