I've had this box for a number of years but I can't recall how it came to me , I'm trying to put a time frame to it
It's unlabeled as to what gun came with it , but does had that plastic disc that comes with a revolver and the post
it's red with a black end , The Ruger logo is in black and white .
I'd post a picture but have been unsuccessful in the past

Yup that's it but it has no labeling on the end as to what gun , that's what I find odd .
Wonder what it would be worth to someone that collect's to have a box for one that didn't

yes, that is one of the one piece boxes from the mid, late 1970s for the double action revolver line (Security Sixes, etc) the end label ( glued on ) most likely fell off and if no white crayon marker of the serial number on the side, tough to know which model was in there.......good box for those that collect the double action gun and we sell them at the shows here in the $20-30 range, more if there is a shipper ,outside sleeve and any paperwork inside the box,,,,,,check the auction sites for current pricing on FINISHED auctions..........

Dan , Thanks for the info , on closer examination I see were there was once a label but no crayon marks . If I can figure out how to post a picture of it I'll put it up for sale

I think in the later years , the factory got "cheap" marked only the out side shipper, with an ink stamp, as the labels got pricy...recall LOTS of the Vaqueros, short and long in plain yellow, black boxes and only the shippers marked, with a ( white)computer generated label, if I remember correctly...........if you see or feel any leftover remnents of 'glue' on the box end, the label fell or was "peeled" off, maybe the box used for some other gun later on..........I used to have a LOT of older boxes, with NO labels, especially the first red/white "new model" boxes after 1973.......
