Well, the progression of Rugeritis disease continues. One starts collecting and just when you think that you "have" to have something and then you find it, you think you are satisfied. If you recall, the desire of my heart was to own an BHK30 8 groove. Well it turns out somebody thought I should have one and it found its way to my house. Now, I go to the Harrisburg show and I see a Type 5 Flattop. ( a BKH3 with an XR3 frame). Guess what? Visions of owning one of those wakes me up at night. Horrible disease eh? What do you think the chances of me owning one of those may be? Probably won't live long enough to find one. May have better chance of finding a "high polish" gun. Oh yea that is also stirring in my craw. Any one have a cure?

well, as long as the gun exists... and you are drawing breath..there is a chance!! but the Rugeritis may not stop until the breath-drawing part stops...

They are all "SCREW DRIVER" variations.....who's to say the very rarest ones were NOT put together buy someone wanting something different years ago ????? Back in the day they were NOT highly valuable collectibles......I know this is BLASPHEMY    just saying.....see ya RR.

well after all these years, he is absolutely 'correct" in his assumption, and I know for a FACT that years ago, some of the guys would sit behind the tables and "make up" strange variations and sell them to the 'unsuspecting' LIKE Pat Welch, (may Pat rest in peace) :( he'd buy ANYTHING if they told him it was "different"...Bob and Laura could tell you guys a LOT about that kind of goings on....now its how many years later, and others have just changed parts for "convenience, or like the "feel" better, ( make the gun the way it should have been in the first place)....gee thats why Ruger made their changes wasn;t it????first thing the 'old man' would ask guys like John Amber or Elmer Keith.."well how do YOU like it now......." (echo, quote of my friend 'Splitz')
careful what you ask for, you just may get it , and hope you don't have to pay off with the family jewels...... 8)
Its one thing to "find" any of this, ( the thrill of the hunt) and buying it for NO matter what it costs, just to get one.......

Did you mean XR3-RED frames? They exist in .44 mag. as well and most are "late shipped" guns......
