Hawkeye
I consider myself somewhat of a handgunner, and dating that field of endeavor back to September 1954. During that span of time I have shot every handgun I could get my hands on just for the experience. And over these years, the Single Action revolver has become my favorite, and that of course the Ruger Super Blackhawk, and the fine .44 Magnum cartridge.
This Super Blackhawk I bought back in 1971 and was my gun of choice for a long time. The brass grip frame is from Ruger, though I paid the $20 to purchase it after market. Best shot I ever made was taking a groundhog at a measured 110 yards.
I later acquired this New Model Super Blackhawk, did some things to it, and it became my favorite. With my handload it just endeared itself to me like a stray puppy. It just seemed to shoot where I looked, and being handsome was no demerit, either:
Then, a few years ago, another Three Screw came along. Looking somewhat like a waif, I took it in, nurtured it and threw some money into it, and this one has earned an honorable place in my battery.
So, now which is my favorite? Sort of like asking which of your children is your favorite.
