Last April, a three-year old little girl was attacked by a pit bull. The attack caused her to loose her right eye, and left her face badly mauled, still a long way from healing.

Recently, she and her mother stopped at a Kentucky Fried Chicken near Jackson, Mississippi for lunch. As they ate, an employee ordered them to leave, as the child's visible wounds were disturbing other patrons!

KFC corporate has apologized and offered a monetary settlement.

I've heard about this story elsewhere.

If it was a customer who complained about the little girl, the KFC manager should have told him/her to pound sand.

If the manager took it upon himself to throw the family out because of the child's scars, then he should be fired. Actually, the manager probably should be fired, regardless.

As I've read it wasn't a single pitbull, it was three that attacked the girl. She was in her Grandfathers backyard at the time. There were a total of 10 pit ills at the house at the time. Two were shot and the third was later euthanized. The grandfather and girlfriend (if I remember correctly) are being charged with child endangerment.

Pit Bull Attack Girl Victoria Wilcher: KFC Offers $30,000 For Medical Bills After She Was 'Kicked Out For Scaring Customers'

And that little sweet heart still manages a smile.

Glad to see KFC stand tall on this. They didn't have to pay, but did. I as well hopes the employee that kicked them out was fired and her grandpa spends a good deal of time in prison for endangering the child. Said it before and I'll say it again, got no use for pitbulls.

The Huffington Post incorrectly places that at Jackson, Missouri, instead of Mississippi.

ummm... the story is not about the dogs. It is about the uncaring, vanity-ridden customers who complained to the fast-food manager, that the girl's disfigurement upset their dining experience. I've seen the same thing in airports and restaurants, but I digress...

And for the record, "pitbulls" are not the problem, as usual; "me first" American-raised adults are.

if folks were scared of her disfigurment maybe they (the scared people ) should stay out of public .

some folks can be such buttholes

Does anybody have an update on this story? From what I've read, the KFC allegedly asked the girl's family to leave. Has this been proven to actually have happened? Yes, I've read where KFC is donating $30k to the poor little girl's medical expenses. It's damage control, not an admission of guilt.

If this story is in fact true as reported, I'm disgusted beyond belief. I'd just like to hear the real truth in this story and am simply looking for the smoking gun.

Updates anyone?

From the article I found on Google and posted above.

“Update: As soon as we learned of the report on Friday, we immediately began an investigation. This kind of hurtful and disrespectful action would not be tolerated by KFC. Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we have apologized to Victoria’s family and are committed to assisting them.

“We are making a $30,000 donation to help with her medical bills. The entire KFC family is behind Victoria and her recovery.”

The news was also confirmed in an email seen by the Associated Press.

I dont know how to link from a tablet, but if you google KFC hoax it will come up. Or in about 20mins when I get to a real computer I can do the link thing.

The girl was attacked by a dog but nobody at KFC asked them to leave. They were attempting to get corp to help pay for the needed serguries. Over 120,000 dollars has been raised for this.

I was the first to post, having heard it on the NBC affiliate, WMCTV, here in Memphis. After the broadcast, suspicion began being raised and tonight the whole story is now known to be a hoax.

Those who came up with this scheme are ---well, I won't say it. But what they have done is nothing short of criminal.

I do hope the little girl does get her required surgery. But too, I hope the family makes no profit from this. Hopefully, any money raised can go to a legitimate charity.

There is a surgeon here in Naples that is going to donate his skill to help the little girl. It is not her fault that her parents are LIARS.

And why is the media calling it a hoax when it is a LIE?

Force of habit from covering obunghole's bunghole...

I just hope that the $120k raised for this poor little girl goes directly towards her medical care, the $30k KFC donated as well. A Black Irish Curse on those who perpetuated this despicable fraud!

In the scheme of things, this is just pennies, but I wonder how much business this cost KFC who was guilty of absolutely nothing.

God bless our children...
