This 10/22 Stock for What Caliber/Model?

The photo below shows a standard 10/22 carbine with wood stock adjacent to another apparent 10/22 stock. Although the second (empty) stock has similar overall dimensions, the opening to mount the action is approximately 1/2 inch longer. Could this second stock be for a 10/22 Magnum?

longer mag slot cutout is for the 22 magnum series of the 10/22.......

Both pictured are the 'basic' factory 'birch' ( American Hardwoods).......
