Exactly! As we all know bears tend to hunt in packs, or is it herds?
Plus the whole brick of 10mm that it takes to load the mag to full capacity is sure to tame the recoil.

Just to be sure, we are just talking about 10mm so far. The title of the thread is "Ultimate Bear Gun", and we all know that the 10mm is NOT the ultimate handgun for bear. But it is still "okay". Enjoying quite a resurgence the last few years. I have the Sig P220 and a Ruger 1911 in 10mm, but really think the Glock 40 is interesting and I would like to try one.

I just watched the video. It looks like there is a lot of recoil in a poly framed 10mm.

And for the 10.000 round test, do they clean the gun every now and then or is it 10,000 rounds without stopping?

Just curious....I don’t want one, I’m looking for something bigger for all the bears in Dallas

A handgun is better than nothing in a bear encounter, but if you really want to stop a bear, you can't go wrong with a .45-70 rifle.

Some of these loads have been used to take the African Big Six. That is a good testament to the stopping power of this round.

In the years I lived in Arctic Alaska and later in SE Alaska my Smith model 29 on my gunbelt made me feel more comfortable when flying. Other times I appreciated my .30-06. I like auto loading firearms but for survival guns I like revolvers (big ones) and bolt action rifles. Around big predators I really want it to go bang when I need it.

I've seen a couple of bears on Afognak I island (luckily from my Cessna) that might require a mounted recoiless rifle. At the time I was taking a guy to neighboring Kodiak Island who was going there to hunt Kodiak bears. With a bow. Someone else was going to pick him up so I never saw him again. I still wonder if anyone ever did.
