The Flood is past

The flood at Caney Creek Lake has passed. We have survived with no damage to our home and very little damage to the waterfront. The lift motor is shorted out on the sailboat lift and we lost a couple of top boards on the seawall but we found them. We have been blessed and give thanks to GOD and his son JESUS for this blessing.

I dearly wish I could say the same for so much of North Louisiana. Homes are still under water, roads and bridges flooded or washed away. People still in shelters and their loss is massive. Pray for those as both rich and poor are suffering.

And purchase flood insurance.

My folks living in the Orange, Texas area said this one was way worse than the flood of 1953 which I remember as a 6 y/o boy. So far all of them are high and dry. However water is over the east/west Southern Pacific railroad tracks over the Sabine River and washing the road bed away in spots. Interstate 10 is shutdown at the Sabine River and traffic is routed north to I-20. The dam at Toledo Bend is still letting out water but at a lesser rate than a couple of days ago. It's a bad deal. Please pray for all those affedted.
