The Colombian Sphere mystery - Cool Art object or Alien gift?

Nobody knows, but it is generating some considerable interest.

Several news sites (Fox, MSN, IndiaToday, etc.) I choose IndiaToday because it shows more detail in a larger image. Fox has a video interview with one of the scientists that are investigating the object. The small square surrounded by something that could be wires, is reminiscent of a microchip/CPU. I have no idea what the other things/symbols represent, but I'd love to get my hands on it in a NDT lab and find out if reacts to anything - magnetic, ultra sound, pressure/vacuum chamber, acid, poking with a needle, vibration, static electricity, and anything else I could think of.

And why did show up (land?) outside a small town in Colombia instead of the WH lawn, Beijing, Red Square, or Jackson, MS? Or are there others like it around the world that nobody has found?

There's also several video's of the object on Youtube that go into more detail, Xray exam, etc.

If further testing/examination proves without a doubt that it could not possibly be of Earthly origin, that will kick over a lot rice bowls. We'll have to wait quite a while for that.

Seems like I remember a few years back some folks found a spear down there in South America and it was heavy and warm and got passed around in the town for a day or so.... then the folks started getting sick and some died.... seems it was a spear of plutonium... I'd be a little leery of this one too.

I swear it looks familiar to me... I've seen it somewhere before...
A few years back I discovered this small lump under my scalp and speculated it was some type of tracking device or such.
I asked the woman that cuts my hair about it and she looked at my scalp and said it must be alien because if it was the government they would have put a small tattoo on my scalp to reference it. I just checked, it's still there.
