Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Finally turned it off. I used to enjoy seeing the marching bands and balloons, but it has been taken over by Hollywood style productions. One after the other with brief glimpses of the actual parade. Then there are the interviews with all the so called stars of upcoming shows.

Is it a rule now that we must have a black host and blonde co-host? :roll:

Sorry for the rant but it's another old tradition that has gone on its way.l :(

that came to mind were just what you said! :D

At least the football starts in thirty minutes. 8)
With that you can put it on "mute" and not have to listen to idiots babble.

I can't watch it anymore because of all the 'advertising'. aaaaaaaaaah the old days. :?

I turned it off and went to the Military channel. I got tired of watching 30 second segments with marching bands and singers I have never heard of. Actually I did see one band I knew...KISS.

I haven't watched the Thanksgiving parade since 1968... I don't watch any TV with commercial ads.

The Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA on New Years Day is 1000 times better.
I have sat on the curb (one time) over night to get a good seat for it and have never regretted it. I have also Marched in the Orange Bowl Parade in Florida my Senior Year (58-59 in High School when our band went down. Got into the Orange Bowl FREE too and had an offer from a member of a Florida High School band to JOIN the Half Time activities. ( I was in my band uniform)
Ahhh lifetime memories.

Sponsors make the world go 'round. It, like everything now, has gone commercial. It's simply good business on both ends. Those that frown so much at the advertising and commercialization of all this...watch a hunting show...oh, no forget that too. ;)

I happened by the set when the Macdonalds float was being featured. they said something along the lines of "macdonalds. helping feed America's children nutritious food"". thats when I laffed and shut it off.
