THAT was neat! I wonder what the altitude actually was on that. I know it was much higher than any of my model rockets have ever gone, and they get some serious altitude.

If you search Thailand Rocket Festivals you can view the rockets as well as the girandolas. They are some crazy folks over there. While the device is ignited they have to manually spin them up to speed hopefully before the thing takes off or worse blows them up. It happens every year over there.

Those are some spectacular shells in that second link. No country in the world comes close to building round shells like the Japanese just as the rest of the world can't figure out how the Maltese build some of their amazing multi-break shells.
