Did Ruger discontinue including the Technical Manual with the Government Target models at some point? I just picked up a very complete KMK678G series 224 (9/2000) but it did not include the Technical Manual.

I am unable to give the answer for that, but wouldn't be suprised. The Goverment model originally came out with an instruction manual that was comprised only of that model's information. But later of course the model was just like any other Mark II so was probably included within a standard instruction manual that went with all the other models.

Thanks Chet,

I have seen some Marks on the auction sites that displayed both the Instruction Manual and the Technical Manual so I wasn't sure what should be there. The one I have, that I bought by itself, has the orange Ruger Service Department sticker on it and a copyright date 1984 and a revision date of 5/84. It does have a stamp on the front stating 'This is a copy of the U.S. Government Technical Manual, included for your interest. Refer to the "Instruction Manual" for all safety and Operational warnings.'
