My wife's parents are visiting, they are Bulgarian, so they are only here for a week. Anyway, they are retired and travel a lot. Last December they went to Georgia. Bulgaria is on the Black Sea, and Georgia is on the other side. Just a quick flight, 2 hours away. They were really impressed with the country and said the people there liked them and were in general happy to have foreign tourists visit their country.
Not my first choice of a vacation spot, especially in December, but it does look like a place I'd like to visit. I like the out of the way places which aren't overrun with tourists.
I just thought y'all might like to see some pictures. It looks like a very clean modern city.
this is a covered walking bridge across the river there in town. The town is up in the mountains, not too high though I believe.
