A while back someone was asking how they could match Ruger's "Target Gray" finish on something.
I've found something close. This week I had to re-do something in the kitchen and used Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy in Stainless Steel. The stuff looked like ass going on but dried to a very nice, even, matte metallic gray finish that might be just a hair darker than Target Gray. It's pretty tough, too--can't scratch it with a fingernail.
Might be something to look at if you want to, say, match a scope on a 77/22V or something of the kind. I got it at Lowe's (Home Depot only has it in cans, not in spray cans) and it was only about $5.
