Well I finaly got a pair of 1st Edition books in good shape. Now for one of those little Fox's statue's! :D :shock: :D
I don't believe I ever saw one even offered here on the forum or any where else for that matter.

Heck I think Rick owns 90% of the pack :lol: :lol: :lol: I did sneak one years ago on EBAY......paid 4 bills.....don't know if it is worth that much but I won't sell it I kinda like the homely little guy :roll: :roll: :roll: RR.
 
Taking into account the rarity of the Fox, I am thinking it would take at least a decent four digit number to buy one...

RR, would you sell yours for anything less? I wouldn't...

I have a picture of Sturm at a book signing. As most people know the story of The Problem Fox there were seven foxes in the book. The story was about one named August. The picture of Sturm shows seven small fox statues and one larger fox in the back. There is a page in the book as well like this. At first in my opinion I knew of seven known in collectors hands. But later I have found a couple more. I beleive I know of 8 or 9 known to date and currently do know of who ownes them. I did have an individual claim he had two but I have not seen proof of that. The figurines of the foxes were part of the story book. Alex was more known for being a writer and possibly did some sculpter work. His dad Justin was in fact a sculpter and I personally beleive that Justin actually made the foxes for the book and not Alex. I have seen other work by Justin Sturm and foxes are very simular in the shoulder and legs of other animals he did. Again this is just my opinion. I have studied Sturm and his books and came up with several ideas. I may in the future write an article for the RCA on my findings. They are made of cast and hollow weighing about a pound. One of the foxes I own does have the original felt on the bottom. As far as a value on these little guys.... who knows???? they are only worth what someone is willing to pay. I have seen them sell for 25.00 to 200.00 and upwards of 650.00. But buyer beware there are a few fakes out there I have not seen one in person to compare an original to one of the reproductions.
 
Terry, Your Ambush book I found several years ago in a book store down town Seattle. I remember the red stain on the cover. They had also written in small letters in the front inside corner the price of 225.00 in pencil.
 
Hey Rick, there are 4 replicas that I had made and I have one, Ruger3Screw has one, Jussbad has one and Tucsonite has the last one.....they are a rough natural finish and are hollow.....they also have a collar with a tag on it.....given as a CHRISTMAS PRESENT one year......the mold was destroyed during the pour....only got the four done....I will shoot a pic of the original and the replica sometime....RR.

Thanks for the info and updates. Some how the number 7 was stuck in my head. I searched for the old post where you guys both showed yours,
but have not found it yet. I remember when rick displayed his in Texas I believe also.
As to the value,, They are worth what someone is willing to pay hits the nail on head.

Rick that book made it all the way from the west coast to the east coast... :D I got the set from Loren up in Maine.
