Stella Stevens dies

I remember her from "The Nutty Professor" with Jerry Lewis. Beautiful woman in her day.

One evening this past week I watched her in a movie with James Brown and Rip Torn. Make in 1972 I think. She also posed in Playboy and in later years was a guest in many TV shows like In The Heat of the Night.

RIP Ms. Stevens.

She was one of those good looking women that whenever I saw her on the screen, I always remembered her name.

She was in my homeroom class when in the junior high years, this at Messick High School. I don't remember her after about the tenth grade. She had connected with George Stevens about that time.

At the time, she was know as Estelle Eggleston.

The Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis was filmed, in part, at my University so I wound up being a student extra in it. Mostly outdoor scenes were filmed IIRC.
Jerry Lewis may have been difficult to work with for his fellow workers but he was very nice to the students. He even gave them a free evening entertainment show in the old football stadium.

The movie I liked the best was the one she played in with Jason Robards. He was an old desert rat and found water in the desert. Started a stage stop and charged for the water. What a hilarious movie. Cannot remember the title. Stother Martin and LQ Jones also played the bad guys in the movie.

IMDB shows her with over 140 movie credits. WOW, didn't realize she was in so many. I remember her in the Silencers with Dean Martin as Matt Helm. She usually played cute eye candy and was admirable at it. May she RIP.

As for the Matt Helm movies that Dean Martin played in, I disliked them intensely because he/producers/director??? changed the whole direction of Matt Helm's character. I read the books which are great. The movies were not anything like the books!

I watched that one last night. It's part of my DVD collection. Kind of sad that that horseless carriage did Hougue. I never thought he deserved that. I just loved Hildy all over again last night. May she rest in peace.

Yep, good movie. I always liked LQ Jones. He's one of those guys that one sees everywhere.
